Day 1: Friday
Evening (Optional):
5:00 PM - 7:00 PM: Early Arrival and Check-in (for campers arriving Friday)
6:00 PM - 7:00 PM: Welcome Dinner (Meet instructors, fellow campers, and parents)
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM: Icebreaker Games & Team Building Activities
Day 2: Saturday
Morning (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM): Classroom Instruction
Parts of a sailboat
Sailing theory (wind, points of sail)
Safety procedures
Knot tying practice
Basic sail handling
Lunch Break (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM): Lunch provided at camp
Afternoon (1:00 PM - 4:00 PM): On the Water!
Rigging and de-rigging sailboats
Basic sailing maneuvers (steering, tacking, jibing)
Introduction to capsize drills (safe and fun!)
Instructor-led group sailing
Dinner (5:00 PM - 6:00 PM): Dinner provided at camp
Evening (6:00 PM - 8:00 PM): Campfire & S'mores (Weather permitting)
Camp songs, stories, and enjoying the company of new friends
Day 3: Sunday
Morning (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM): Advanced Sailing Skills on the Water
Refining sailing techniques
Teamwork and communication on the boat
Introduction to racing concepts
Lunch Break (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM): Lunch provided at camp
Afternoon (1:00 PM - 4:00 PM): Open Racing (Optional)
Campers who wish to stay can participate in fun, friendly races with their instructors
Awards ceremony for all participants
Departure (4:00 PM): Pick-up time for campers
Additional Notes:
All sailing equipment and life jackets are provided.
Campers should wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for wet weather conditions.
Sunscreen, hat, and a water bottle are recommended.
Lunch and dinner are provided on both days.
All instructors are certified sailing instructors and trained in CPR and First Aid.
A permission slip and health form will need to be completed before camp.
