The Highlander fleet is looking forward to hosting the 2017 Highlander Nationals at Berlin Yacht Club on July 8th through the 13th!  While you may not have seen many Highlanders sailing on the starting line during club racing recently, we are still very active in our sailing efforts.  Which is why we are excited about bringing the Highlander Nationals to Berlin yacht Club this year!  

 

As I write this article, there is snow on the ground and the lakes are frozen.  But we are already hard at work making plans for our week of Highlander sailing.  Everything is coming together with race management teams, race equipment check lists, daily lunches, evening meals, and entertainment!  We are planning for a great week of Highlander sailing and entertainment at Berlin and would like to encourage you to get involved too!  You are welcome to get a Highlander and join us on the race course.  If you do not have time to join us on the water, please come out and check out what we are doing.  I would invite you to come and join us for dinner sometime throughout the week.  But, should you decide to come out, please let us know early (no later than June 16th), as we want to make certain we have enough food for you and everyone else.

While the plans are coming together very nicely for the Highlander Nationals, there is still a lot to do.  So if you are looking to volunteer, please let John Bauer know.  We already have a lot of people volunteering to help, as many hands make for light work, a few more volunteers are always welcome.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the club this summer and I really hope to see many club members at the Highlander Nationals in July!
